Dateline Iligan. City Health Office Warns of Diseases from Water
The City Health Office cautions the public of diseases that might be contracted from water after the bursting of the main pipeline of ICWS System 3 in Suarez, the other week.
City Health Officer Dr. Cherlina Canaveral announced that when discoloration of the water from the faucets is observed, boiling for at least 15 minutes must be done.
She gave this warning even as Iligan City Waterworks Manager Cristine Milagros Orbe assured the public that the water supplied by the department is being disinfected.
Canaveral insisted that boiling must be done due to the possibility that when the pressure in the pipes is low harmful bacteria might come inside through small leaking points.
She added that the bacteria in the water may cause diarrhea or amoeba, said a report from the City Information Office. – The New Ranao Star -
