Bacolod Kalawi leads a Clean Up Drive in Lake Lanao

BACOLOD KALAWI, Lanao del Sur: The Municipal Government of Bacolod Kalawi in the province of Lanao del Sur has organized and led a Clean Up Drive in Lake Lanao River Basin at its beautiful Balut island on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

Municipal Mayor Nora L. Dipatuan said the protection of nature and the environment is among Bacolod Kalawi’s priority programs.

“Lake Lanao is the foremost legacy that the Maranao generation can inherit from us and we have to protect it for oru generations to come,” said Dipatuan.

The lady mayor said they are glad government agencies are helping in cleaning and protecting the beautiful lake.

With a theme, “Protect Nature, Sustain our Future” , the activity was initiated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Northern Mindanao (DENR 10)-Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project (INREMP), in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MENRE-BARMM), the office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENR), the Philippines National Police (PNP), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG) and barangay local government unit officials.
