Dateline Iligan. Livelihood Associations Get LGU Help

Ten Farmers’ Associations and two groups organized by the DepEd Alternative Learning of Center got livelihood assistance from the City government last July 20.

SP Committee Chairman on Livelihood Roy Openianotold Media that the project is part of the local government’s concern for farmers and fishermen of the City.

He said that the project consisted of distribution of tools and implements such as wheelbarrows, shovels, trowels, water hoses, knapsack sprayer and LPG set.

Reported as recipients were Green Crops Pugaan Farmer’s Association, Digkilaan Entrepreneur Association, Alternative Learning Center-Iligan City National High School, Kabangahan/Rogongon Farmer’s Association. 5’s Tipanoy, Santiago 5P’s Gardener Association, Iligan Abaca Growers Farmers’ Association (Digkilaan), Barangay Farmers of Lanipao, Bayanihan Association (Sta. Filomena), Upper Tominobo Banana and Fisher Folks Association (Upper Tominobo), Alternative Learning Center Quarridor Association (Wago, Hinaplanon) andBayug Island Aquamarine Fisherfolks Association.

Openiano revealed that the City government has P3.8 Million per year of livelihood funds from the share of the national wealth. – The New Ranao Star -
