Zambo City readies to join 12th China-ASEAN Expo

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug. 31 (PNA) -– The local government is finalizing the preparations to join in the 12th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Guangxi, Nanning, China.

This, as this city will be featured as in country’s “City of Charm” during the CAEXPO from September 15 to 22 exposing this place to more business and investment opportunities.

Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar will lead the Philippine delegation during the week-long event and together with the members of the City Council and the local delegation will spearhead the promotion advocacies intended to sell this city during the series of events that will be attended by state leaders of ASEAN countries, ministers of economy and trade, ambassadors and consul-generals.

Salazar said that a bulk of this city’s delegation will be the members of the local business community who will be showcasing Zamboanga products and capabilities.

Salazar said officials from the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) headed by Doris Gacho and Anjo Ty met with the delegation on Friday to finalize the itinerary and other details to include schedules for business matching and travel requirements.

As head of the Philippine delegation, Salazar will lead the opening tour of the Philippine pavilion and will be the guest of honor during the dinner banquet for VIPs at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangxi, China.

The China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) has gained positive feedback from both the political and business communities.

It has emerged as an excellent platform for bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and tourism.

Salazar said the participation in the 12th CAEXPO would not only raise the profile of the local industries, but also expose Zamboangueños businessmen to more business and investment opportunities in China and ASEAN.

Salazar said the CAEXPO includes series of forums on specific sectors, for business leaders to illustrate their market analysis and highlight during the 12th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS).



She said the local government through the Investment Promotion Division under her office leads the preparations in coordination with the Departments of Trade and Industry, Agriculture, Interior and Local Government and Tourism.
