Lanao Police in manhunt operation vs 8 escaped inmates

CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City, September 3 -- Police troops are in manhunt operation after eight inmates escaped on September 3 at Lanao Provincial Jail in Pigcarangan, Tubod town, Lanao del Norte.

Initial investigation by personnel of Tubod Municipal Police Station (MPS) disclosed that the escapees— Amoran Dasimbor aka “AMORAN MULOK,” Samsodin Mamao Y Mamao, Musakira Tomanto, Alisaman Santos Y Dimasangka aka “BOKONG,” Walid Mandagla Y Indie, Anowar Angni y Locsadato aka “ANO,” Caris Lando Y Balowa, and Bawi Mapandi Y Mangansan managed to escape from the penal facility by cutting the grills of their cell with the use of a hacksaw blade and pass over the perimeter fence at the back portion of facility.

Further investigation disclosed that the duty guards on post namely: Roderick Banasco, Oscar Molijon, and Ernesto Caro had only been aware of the incident after one of the inmates shouted and informed them that inmates had already escaped.

Meanwhile, at about 7:20 a.m. of same date one piece of Lenox hacksaw blade alleged used by the escapees in cutting the grills was turned-over by a concern inmate David Gerolaga y Buhos to the responding personnel of Tubod MPS.

Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office personnel is conducting manhunt operation and random checkpoints for the immediate arrest of the escapees.

According to PSupt Gervacio O Balmaceda Jr, spokesperson, Police Regional Office (PRO), region 10, that, as announced by Governor Khalid Dimaporo, the provincial government of Lanao del Norte has offered a P500,000 (per inmate) reward for information leading to the apprehension of the 8 escaped inmates.
