Dateline Iligan. MARKET REVENUES IN MAY HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR’S
Collections for the month of May 2015 from the two public markets this city, are comparatively higher than those of the same period last year.
A Comparative Income Report of the Economic En-terprise Development and Management Office EEDMO (EEDMO) released last week showed that the collections of Palao Market increased by 12% while that of the Cen-tral grew by 2%.
Palao Market collected P833,393.64 in May 2015 while it only collected P742,231 in the same month last 2014.
On the other hand, the Central Market collected P303,230.03 in May this year while it got only P296,118.98 in the same month last year.
Market Supervisor Jemrevith Sechong explained that market collections normally fluctuate.
She said collections usually rise during the period of paying licenses and in months when there are new stall occupants who pay occupancy fees.
She said that she anticipates a decrease of col-lections in June when stall extensions will be banned.
It was learned that EEDMO collects P200,000 daily from stall occupants. –The New Ranao Star
