Dateline Iligan. EEDMO BANS STALL EXTENSIONS
The Economic Enterprise Development and Management Office (EEDMO) announced last week that it will no longer allow Market Stall owners to extend their respective units.
EEDMO Manager Virginia Junsan told newsmen that the move aims to improve the neatness of the public mar-kets in accordance with the law.
Accordingly, she said that her office will cease from collecting taxes from unauthorized stall extensions.
These unauthorized extensions are being dismantled.
Junsan also warned vendors that goods sold in viola-tion of the Market Code of Iligan will be confiscated.
On the other hand, she said that EEDMO is doing its best to find a place to accommodate sidewalk and ambu-lant vendors and legalize their enterprise.
It may be recalled that there were suggestions to provide a counter-flow of passenger vehicle traffic from Roxas Avenue to Aguinaldo Street toward the Central Market so that people will be induced to shop at the facil-ity.
It was observed that even residents of nearby Coco Groove, Saray, Roosevelt and Canaway do not shop at the Central Market because no transportation is available on their way home with heavy purchases. – The New Ranao Star
