MARAWI CITY, May 23 --Schools division superintendent Pharida L. Sansarona would rather keep silent than giving comment on the reported order from the Department of Education of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DepEd-ARMM) urging Marawi City schools division superintendent Monda A. Macatanong to step down from the department service due to a compulsory retirement.

This was said by Nahara D. Pinto, an aide of Sansarona, in an interview recently with the New Ranao Star.

There was a report circulating in social media network that an order signed by DepEd-ARMM secretary Jamar Kulayan urged Macatanong to step down from service.

It was also reported that DepEd-ARMM would install Sansarona in her place as city schools division superintendent.

Sansarona is the incumbent schools division superintendent of Lanao del Sur IB before it merged with IA. Her item is assistant schools division superintendent and is expected to assume the highest post in the division once Macatanong retires.

Pinto said Sansarona was surprised to hear of the alleged order.

“She did not know it,” stressed Pinto, adding “that’s why she advised her colleagues not to give any comment but to wait and see in order to avoid misunderstanding.”

Sansarona also asked those spreading the unwanted issue, according to Pinto, to stop for 2016 is not so far to wait for.

Sansarona is waiting for further Order from the region.
