Lanao Sur PNP joins rolling stores

MARAWI CITY: Due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) amid the deadly Coronavirus pandemic, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has joined the rollling stores to bring and sell prime commodities such as rice, sardines, noodles and coffee in suggested retail prices to households in various parts of the province amid the pandemic Coronavirus Disease.

Police Colonel Madzgani M. Mukaram, Provincial Director of Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), said the rolling stores is the initiative of the provincial government in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry, Bangon Marawi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., MTIT, MAFAR and the World Food Program.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is image-1.pngMukaram said the activity is aimed to ease the burden of the constituents of Lanao del Sur in purchasing food supplies without having to travel far and to ensure that hoarding is avoided upon putting the province into Enhanced Community Quarantine effective on March 17, 2020. 

The provincial government provided the commodities while LDSPPO provided the transportation with fuel subsidy from the PLGU.

The commodities were transported to the three municipalities, namely: Poonabayabao, Buadipuso Buntong, and Bayang as the center of the market to cater to the nearby municipalities.    

The activity commenced on March 30, 2020, and will continue until supply lasts.

“We would like to ask the cooperation of the public to stay at their residence for their health safety to help us deal the protection of the community against the threat of the coronavirus," said Mukaram. (RSP)
