Iligan, Marawi agree on the entry, exit of basic needs between the two cities

The Cities of Iligan and Marawi have reached an agreement regarding the traffic flow of basic commodities between the two cities after their respective two chief executives met in Iligan City on Tuesday.

In a statement, Marawi Mayor Majul Gandamra said he brought the concerns of the constituents of Marawi and Lanao del Sur to his counterpart in Iligan City after the enhanced restrictions in the entry and exit of residents from neighboring areas to Iligan City and vice versa per its Executive Order No. 33 released on Monday.

Gandamra insisted that the national guidelines on the flow of basic needs shall be implemented, the statement said.

"Dahil sa nasabing pagpupulong at sa mga hinaing at mga mungkahi ng mga residente ng Marawi City na ipinarating ni Mayor Gandamra, napagkasunduan na patuloy na ang daloy ng mga basic commodities tulad ng pagkain, tubig at gamot mula Iligan papuntang Marawi at Lanao del Sur. Ito ay alinsunod sa national guidelines on basic commodities na ipinaiiral ngayon sa buong bansa. Nilinaw ni Mayor Regencia na ayaw niyang pahirapan ang mga taga-Marawi," it said.
