JMIF marks 29th capping, candle lighting ceremony

ILIGAN CITY: A leading school in Marawi City, Jamiatu Philippine Al-Islamia Foundation (JMIF) held its 29th Capping, Candle Lighting and Badge Investiture Ceremony held at a hotel here on Monday.

Leading the activity is the school president Sultan Nasser D. Sampaco who confirmed the graduation of the midwifery students.

In his message, Sampaco said among the highest paid nurses in the Middle East particularly in Saudi Arabia are products of JMIF. "We have thousands of nurses all over the world even in /Canada, England, America," he added, who are products of the school.



JMIF is one of the oldest and reputable institutions of higher education in the province of Lanao del Sur. It was founded by the late Sultan Rashid Sampaco and a group of renowned Ulama in the locality.

Marawi Sultanate League chairman Sultan Nasser D. Sampaco heads the school as president with Sadat D. Sampaco as vice president for academic affairs cum registrar; Nassib D. Sampaco, school administrator; Khadafy D. Sampaco as school cashier; Dr. Pendatun Lumbaya as a consultant. Leonisa Bagonte serves as tehnical secretary and Ellyn L. Orellaneda as assistant registrar and concurrent dean of the college of arts, sciences, and technology.

Its College of Health Science is headed by Prof. Chona Gonzales Limbaring as the college of nursing dean; Prof. Alibasher D. Macalnas, dean/principal, midwifery department; Rachelle P. Ursua, clinical coordinator; Aylah M. Bula, Iris Azalea Garcia, Gizelle Mae P. Macayan, Evelyn Noraida Saro Lumna, clinical instructors; and Alyana Faisah S. Barodi, Norhanifa D. Salic, and Abdul Mansawi Derimbangun, lecturers. (RSP)
