Supt. Pangandaman opens first Lanao del Sur-I joint schools presscon

SAGUIARAN, Lanao del Sur: Lanao del Sur Division-I started today its three-day First Division Joint Schools Press Conference and English Wizard Competition held at the Saguiaran Central Elementary School in this town from November 13 to 15, 2018.

With the theme, “Ensuring Credible Information through English Proficiency and Campus Journalism,” it is the first of its kind in Lanao del Sur schools division-I headed by Dr. Normillah Sumigay Pangandaman, schools division superintendent, with her two assistant schools division superintendents, Dr. Sahanee M. Sumagayan and Dr. soraida B. Noor for elementary and secondary education respectively,

Before formally opening the program, Pangandaman reminded participants on the concept of talent competitions. She said, “A talent show is an event in which participants perform the arts of singing, dancing… martial arts and other activities to showcase your skills.” 

She also announced that she would shoot some questions to the audience and the first to raise hand will answer and receive P500.00 as prize if the answer is correct. Such questions included “Who is the founder of Face Book,” “Who is the creator of Twitter”, “When was Facebook launched?,” etc., which were then successfully answered by participants, both mentors and participants. 

Pangandaman said participants should not only showcase their skills, talents and arts but also celebrate for being chosen as champions. “Kaya nandito kayo dahil kayo ang napili ng inyong distrito na champions,” she added. 

The occasion was graced by town vice mayor Hafiz Muti as guest speaker, town and barangay officials, division and district officials, principals and teachers, parents and community leaders.
