Panggao Primary School commits quality education to its learners



SAGUIARAN, Lanao del Sur: In simple but sincere ways, a half century old primary school here has always been committed to provide quality education and academic excellence to its learners. Thus said Caironsalam Ambor during her first State of the School Address (SOSA) on April 1, 2018 as principal of Panggao Primary School here.

Panggao Primary School is located in between Maliwanag Elementary School and Cadayonan Central Elementary School, and is 6 km away from the Division office. It was established in school year 1959-1960 through the leadership of Late Principal H. Taher Ongca Rataban. 

In her address, Principal Ambor said that as of today, Panggao Primary School has two teaching force including herself and one Volunteer Teacher. She said the school has one building consisting of two rooms. 

"We are committed to provide our learners a quality environment," she said, "by imparting them learning through competent and adequately trained teachers who teach desirable values and traits that shall explore all avenues to gain commitment and the greater participation and support of stakeholders to school programs, protect and activities."

She said that with this mission-vision, the school boosted lots of improvement to make their environment suitable for learning and teaching process. 

ACCOMPLISHMENT.

Principal Ambor thanked the Almighty Allah "because we accomplished a lot of improvement."

She said in the School Year 2016-2017, Panggao Primary School obtained Level 3 in School Improvement Plan (SIP). 

The school enrolment this School Year, she said, "is increasing compare to the last few years."

"We are trying to increase it in this coming school year," she said, adding that,  "We are doing our best to give all the children to provide quality education, and to access education."

Ambor said: "...our grade 2 pupils under frustration reader are now in instructional readers and some of them also independent readers."

Panggao Primary School is one of the recipients of school-based feeding Program for whcih Ambor thanked the Department of Education "for giving us a budget to feed the 64 learners. "

Ambor also thanked all the members of Parents Teachers Association (PTA) for donating Php2,000.00 to establish a temporary toilet, hand washing and drum. 

"And now this (referring to the newly constructed toilet) our permanent toilet constructed By Engr. Arjay from Action Against Hunger who also gave us a bestank and 500 meter hose," she said, adding that, "We are very thankful to Action Against Hunger for their great help to all our learners to be safe from germs and make them happy and comfortable in school."

She also thanked the barangay local government units who donated PhP5,000.00 used to buy a one-roll of floormat and two gallons of paint for the classroom of kinder pupils. 

She said that one of their projects accomplished included the construction of window grills, door grill, bamboo fence and the provision of 20 pieces of chairs for the learners. "This is worth fifty two thousand, five hundreds pesos PhP 52,500.00, at dito napunta yung MOOE ng school," she emphasized.

Principal Ambor also revealed that another accomplishment is the 60 pcs small chairs for kinder and Grade 1 pupils, and 11 pcs small long tables for the classroom, "worth PhP18,000.00 which is my personal money."

Panggao Primary School received five sacks of rice, ARMM bags, note books, ballpens, pencils, bags colors and school uniform for the IDPs. 

It also received Essential Health Care Package Kit (EH CP) for all Learners. 

"That’s all our achievement from SY 2016-2018 but we endeavor to be great," 

PLANS.

Principal Ambor bared: "For the next school year 2018-2019, we want to accomplish more: among our priorities are the repair the school building; additional teacher, I hope and pray for more additional teachers with the help our trusted district supervisor Dr. Norhanifa T. Angin and our division Superintendent Madam Dr. Normillah Pangandaman; concrete perimeter fence; additional building; computer set with projector, so our learners can adopt the new technology; permanent hand washing; and stage. I’m praying to almighty Allah to fulfill these all."

She is optimistic that "with all your support my family members from division offices and District office, dear parents, teachers and the local government, we can achieve more." 

The occasion was graced by respected personalities whom Principal Ambor expressed her gratitude. These included "Municipal Councilor Mr. Asnawi M. Aba, our supportive barangay Chairwoman Hadja Noralyn A. Agay, PTA President Mrs. Warda Manali, SGC President Mrs. Noronisah H. Macmod, and to my family members from the division office headed by Dr. Saliha M. Amer, our trusted District Supervisor Dr. Norhanifa T. Angin, Teachers, parents and visitors."

In the end, Principal Ambor shared one hadith. She said: “The prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said when a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three -- 1. Sadaqah Jariyah; 2. Beneficial knowledge; 3. A pious son who prays for him." - RSOY/RSP
