Consumers group organized in Marawi, Lanao del Sur
Marawi City, Lanao del Sur
Spearheaded by the provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry - Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DTI-ARMM), consumers in the Islamic City of Marawi and the Province of Lanao del Sur convened Technology Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) in People’s Park at Barrio Saber last August 31 to organize themselves to have one voice for a better protected consumer.
The program was opened by Mohammad Aquil A. Mamainte, DTI-ARMM provincial director for Lanao del Sur.
Assistant Director Maulana Sumpingan and Haneeya M. Sumandar welcomed the participants from different sectors of the community.
Inputs were provided for the benefits of the participants.
Mamaunte Marohombsar TIDS/IDIPD division coorodinator discussed halaal foods that Muslims can consume.
Mrs. Shaima Sally Matonding Batabor, STIDS/TRCP division coordinator, talked about the rights and responsibilities of the consumers.
The participants finally organized and elected their set of officers:
Soraida Sarigala, President; Hadji Usman Puno, internal vice president; Anwar Batuaan, external vice president; Jasmin Barataman Matonding, secretary; Hanifi Sani, treasurer; Metalicop Macaronsing, auditor; Raisa Taher, PRO.
Sectoral Committee chairs were also elected —Mohammad Batabor for Trade and Industry/Business Sector, and Caironisah Unda for Women’s Sector. TNRS
