Adiong’s 8 point agenda
Ismael M. Cabili, head of the Internal Control Audit Unit (ICAU) of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur in a recent interview with The New Ranao Star disclosed that the ICAU is supporting the programs of the provincial governor to ensure that the funds intended for specific development programs are spent properly and to see where the money of the people is going by double checking.
He said aside from the regular audit office, the provincial government has established ICAU to check on proper spending of funds for provincial government programs.
He said so far the operation of the ICAU is going very smoothly.
Cabili said that the 8 point agenda of governance of the Provincial Government under Governor Soraya A. Adiong and Vice Governor Mamintal “Bombit” A. Adiong, Jr., include: 1. Formulation and implementation of gender development and capability-building programs; 2. Enhancement of economic and agricultural development through the formulation and implementation of appropriate policies, training and livelihood programs; 3.Provision of short-term and long-term scholarship opportunities for underprivileged and deserving students through constant coordination with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and other local and international scholarship providers; 4. Continuation and expansion of the present health care programs; 5. Rehabilitation, conservation and protection of the environment, especially Lake Lanao; 6. Cultural promotion and promotion of tourist spots and areas in the province that can generate income and livelihood for the locals; 7. Implementation of activities, policies and programs to ensure continuous peace and order and spiritual enhancement; and 8. Elimination of illegal activities, such drug addiction and peddling in line with the programs of President Rodrigo R. Duterte. pp
