Dateline Iligan. MARZO: “JOB WELL DONE” FOR PDEA AND POLICE

The Acting City Mayor congratulated the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Iligan City Police Office for a job well done during the first 6 months of his administration.

Acting Mayor Ruderic C. Marzo cited the report of Executive Judge Albert B. Abragan of the Regional Trial Court in Iligan during the culmination of the Drug Abuse and Prevention Month last week that a total of 98 cases involving offenses related to prohibited drugs were filed during the period from May to Novemvber 2015.

The figure indicates that an average of 16 cases were filed monthly compared to only 149 or an average of only 12 cases filed before the Court from November 2013 to November 2014.

Marzo attributes this higher accomplishment to the better coordination between his administration and the law enforcement authorities.

He was said that he hopes that the enthusiasm of PDEA and the police will continue with his full support.

As reported by the City Information Office one of the administration’s support to the law enforcement agencies was the creation of the “Barkada Kontra sa Druga” (Peers Against Drugs), a group composed of young volunteers who conduct forums and orientation sessions on Prohibited and Dangerous Drugs.
