AQUINO GRACES THERMA SOUTH INAUGURATION

President Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III graced the inauguration of the 300 MW Therma South baseload thermal power plant of Therma South Inc. in Brgy. Binugao, Toril, Davao City yesterday, January 8.

The entry of the power plant will boost the power supply of Mindanao, reducing rotational brownout incidents that are usually caused by the shortage of power supply.

The power plant is delivering reliable baseload power to some 20 electric cooperatives and power distribution utilities in Mindanao.

The plant is utilizing the latest Circulating Fluidized Bed combustion technology, which ensures the power plant meets Philippine Clean Air Act standards. It also features a Coal Dome, a first in Southeast Asia, to safely and securely store the coal fuel. The company us also embarking on a unique Carbon Sink Management Program in partnership with the local community to offset the carbon footprint operations of the power plant. THE NEW RANAO STAR
