RECRUITER SUSPENDED DUE TO FAKE EDUCATION DOCUMENTS

A recruiter in the Philippines has been suspended for faking the education certificates of household workers due to be deployed to overseas jobs, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

POEA administrator Hans Cacdac said in a statement that Brent Overseas Personnel submitted fake certificates for nine household services workers, thereby claiming they had completed specific pre-deployment training.

“This deception or falsehood practised by the erring recruiter is highly deplorable,” Cacdac said.

On ordering the preventative suspension of the recruitment agency, Cacdac said: “The evidence of guilt is strong and that there exist reasonable grounds to believe that the continued operation of Brent Overseas Personnel Inc will result to further violation and exploitation of the workers being recruited.” RANAO STAR
