Marawi Market extends aid to Yolanda victims

Marawi City Market Superintendent Samer U. Salic led a fund-raising campaign inside the Market or Padian aimed to raise donations in cash or in kind for assistance to deeply affected residents by the Supertyphoon Yolanda.
Mr. Michael Canapi, Market Supervisor, said P23,800.00 in cash plus goods and commodities had been raised from Market vendors and stall holders as well as from consumers of Padian Site on November 13 and 14.
The amount and the goods and commodity raised up were given to the Office of former Regional Legislative Assemblywoman Samera Gutoc Tomawis represented by Sahara Macunte and company.
Tomawis was spearheading a campaign of fund-raising among the Maranao community the proceeds of which would be given the Yolanda victims.
The Padian fund-raising campaign was witnessed by Marawi City Police Director PSupt. Christopher Panapan and some of his men, representatives from the 103rd Brigade of the Philippine Army, and officials of the Office of the Market superintendent.
