The 2013 barangay elections in the Islamic City of Marawi and province of Lanao del Sur was generally peaceful and orderly, the police said.
And Government officials said there was no failure of elections in the province and its city.
The Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO) at Camp Bagong Amai Pakpak said except for very isolated incidents, there was no disturbance and electors peacefully cast their votes in designated polling places around the province and the city. LDSPPO also said canvassing of votes casted was also done smoothly and results were reported on time during the three-day barangay elections from October 28 to 30.

Meanwhile, Vice Governor Haroun Al-Rashid A. Lucman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) was quoted by the media as saying this is the first time that there was no failure of elections declared in the province of Lanao del Sur.
