Girl Scout Encampment

Lanao del Sur schools
division I-B held successfully its Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP)
encampment at Marantao municipality from November 10 to 14.
Hosted by Sultan Disomimba Central Elementary School
(SDCES) headed by Principal Armilah P. Hadjiazis, the encampment gathered all
scout city and municipal GSP councils in the province’ schools division I-B for
a four-day .
Schools Division I-B is headed by Superintendent Hjh. Pharida
L. Sansarona.
Lanao del Sur First Lady Raifah Raki-in Adiong was the
Guest Speaker. Adiong is the Chief Girl Scout of Lanao del Sur and Marawi City
Council.
The occasion was also graced by the present Marantao mayor
Bae Racma K. Bandrang Abinal and husband, the former Mayor Mohammadali Abinal
as well as other
dignitaries.
The Encampment started with a street parade before
the opening ceremony was formally opened. Colorful entries of participating
Girl Scouts from various municipalities under the division received standing
applause from the spectators including VIPs in the stage.
The opening program then as always in any Maranao big
occasion such as this had the invocation of God’s blessing through the recital
of Qur’an verses which was done by Ustadz Jafar Arumpac.
The colors’ ceremony was beautifully exhibited by selected
senior scouts of Balindong National High School before a nurturing word of
wisdom was given by Mayor Abinal.
Hjh. Mampay P. Macagaan, assistant to the Schools division
superintendent of Lanao del Sur I-B, gave the opening remark.
Maj. Dennis Legaspi, Station Commander of Marantao
delivered a short message before the Guest Speaker was introduced by Bainan G.
Hadji Faisal, Division BRAC Coordinator and Shari’ah Counselor.
Bae Raifah Rakiin-Adiong
delivered a very inspiring and memorable speech . She advised the Girs Scouts
to live by the the scout ways and in accordance with the tenet of Islam and the
Maranao culture.
After the plaque of appreciation was awarded to the Guest
Speaker, Bae Anna Zenaida Unte-Alonto ,
Marawi City schools division assistant superintendent, gave another word of
wisdom.
Finally, Superintendent Sansaruna formally opened the
encampment which was followed by the singing of On My Honor and the raising of
the participating schools’ flags.
