Bacolod Kalawi suspends Tarawi, congregations due to COVID-19

The municipal government of Bacolod-Kalawi has suspended the conduct of 'Tarawi' and other congregational prayers (Jama) during the Holy Month of Ramadhan as a preventive measure against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The decision to suspend Tarawi and other congregations was made at a general consultation meeting held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, which was co-chaired by Sultan sa Bacolod Grande Diarangan Jaafar Dipatuan and his wife Mayor Nora Lucman-Dipatuan.

The consultation was preceded by a series of consultations and concluded the suspension would be of the best interest of the public given the presence of the pandemic.

The Municipal Government of Bacolod-Kalawi, together with Ulamas, seek for the understanding and the continued cooperation of the people of Bacolod-Kalawi.
