Mayor suspends office works, school classes in Marawi

Mayor Majul U. Gandamra has suspended office works and school classes in both public and private establishments in the Islamic City of Marawi on March 13-15, 2020 to give ample time for them to disinfect their offices and schools.
In a memorandum issued on Thursday, Gandamra said, "This is in line with the efforts of the Local Government Unit of Marawi to combat and prevent the proliferation of the COVID-19 disease."
The city mayor said any further announcement shall be done with the city communications outlets like its official Facebook account and Radio Dansalan.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte issued Presidential Proclamation No. 992 declaring a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines.
The Department of Health (DOH) reported two fatalities and 37 positive cases of the virus in the country. (RSP)
