MARAWI CITY: A beautiful torogan (an ancestral cultural heritage house) owned by the family of former Bubong mayor Hj. Ali Munder in Barangay Montia-an of Lanao del Sur's municipality of Bubong, razed to the ground on Monday afternoon.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire broke out at around 3:40 PM and was declared under control at around 5{03 PM.

The house is a popular cultural heritage in the municipality that was constructed forty-four years ago by the former mayor Munder.
Residents said the heritage house should have been saved from burning if the town has a fire-truck or if there was one in nearby municipalities. But as in most towns of the province, there is no fire-truck available.
Municipal mayor Yusoph Munder of the Mundir family thanked those who responded alongside with the Bubong Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office (MDRRMO) and the Municipal Police Station (MPS-Bubong) such as the Bureau of Fire Protection-Provincial Capitol, BFP-Ditsaan Ramain and Saguiaran, PDRRMO-Lanao del Sur, MDRRMO-Ditsaan Ramain, and all the good people of Bubong who helped during the incident.
