MARAWI CITY: Lt. General Arnel dela Vega, commander of Western Mindanao Command of the Armed forces of the Philippines (AFP), expressed the gratitude of the AFP for being a partner in the programs of the government aimed for peace and development in the locality.

Dela Vega said this during the ground-breaking ceremony on Friday for the seven-classroom school building donated by the GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) to Datu Saber Elementary School in Barangay Datu Saber, this city.

Dela Vega said they are glad to have contributed with their limited resources in the realization of this project.

"But more than that, the Armed Forces is greatly grateful for the opportunity given us in manifesting our serious partnership with the local government unit, the local government agencies, our communities, the non-government organizations, civil society organizations," said dela Vega.

He said the AFP even with meager resources did not hesitate to respond for the need especially when it is a project for the future of the school children.

The proposed building is one of the three school buildings donated by GMAKF donated to the schools division of Marawi City. (RSP)
