TFBM’s Land Resource Management Subcommittee vows to accommodate all IDPs

MARAWI CITY: Promising to accommodate all Marawi internally displaced persons IDPs), the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) is continuing the profiling or social cartography for structures and land properties inside the city’s most affected area (MAA) by the 2017 Marawi Siege.

Under the TFBM-Land Resource Management (LRM) subcommittee, Solid Waste Management Project Officer Sittie Almairah Lomondot of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) in Region 10 said they are currently conducting the mapping of displaced residents and their properties in Barangay Lumbaca Marinaut, which belongs to Sector 9 of MAA.

With the assistance of DENR technical crews from other regional offices in Mindanao, Marawi LGU, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, DENR Assistant Secretary Michelle Go leads the LRM’s social cartography which started on September 15, 2018 at MAA's Sector 1.

Comprising 24 of the city’s 96 barangays (villages), MAA is divided into nine sectors and it is also undergoing debris management by the TFBM Inter-agency committee on debris clearing headed by the National Housing Authority (NHA).

Lomondot said that as soon as they have finished all sectors, they will get back to the displaced residents of Norhaya Village on March 19, Monday, which was rescheduled earlier.

“Although we can finish all sectors of MAA next week, we still have to accommodate the displaced residents from other sectors who were not able to profile their properties. We will consume this month to ensure that all IDPs from MAA will be catered to,” Lomondot assured.

“TFBM-LRM Subcommittee will conduct another mapping for Barangay Marinaut West next Monday, March 11; Barangay Datu Naga on Tuesday, March 12; Barangay Dansalan on Wednesday, March 13; and Barangay Datu Sa Dansalan on Thursday, March 14,” she added.

TFBM’s social cartography is being held at the tennis court of Lanao del Sur Provincial Capitol in Marawi City from Sunday to Thursday every week. Fridays are intended for consolidation.
