Hajj now more affordable for Muslim Filipinos

MARAWI CITY: The Hajj, or the annual Muslims' Pilgrimage to Mecca, is now made more affordable for Filipinos, through initiatives of President Rodrigo Duterte, Malacanang said.
With an additional new airline plying the Philippine-Mecca route, according to Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and Presidential Spokesperson Salvador S. Panelo, airfare costs reduced. A pilgrim will enjoy savings of Php11,664 up to Php30,214.
He said starting in 2019, Filipino Muslim pilgrims will not anymore be billeted in substandard accommodations, but only in either 4-star or 5-star hotels.
Unauthorized and corrupt add-on fees have now all been removed.
