Alleged corrupt now with BTA?

Many are surprised how could the government include in the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) personalities whom the many believed were either corrupt or tainted with dubious reputations.

One observer questioned the integrity of those whose lifestyles are equated with millionaires they had never been before having held juicy government. He said to prove what he is saying, one can check the lifestyle of those individuals.

But the reality is, in this kind of governance that we have in the Philippines, it is seldom difficult to find a Moro - with due respect to the exception - who has the trait of a mo'min or faithful to what he professes not only in his relations with his Creator but also with those around him and his work.

And, why is that? It is because the system of government that we inherited from the past is a system, in the words of President Duterte, designed to fail. It is a system that from the beginning of its application has been deteriorating because it is perpetuated by corruption, dishonesty, and deceits in government.

The incoming Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is no different from the outgoing Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) which despite its expensive propaganda machinery has not convinced the majority as not a corrupt agency. The only difference is that BARMM has that block grant and fiscal autonomy while ARMM has not.

But both the BARMM and the ARMM are a product of the system we are talking about. And unless the BTA ministers and leaders can religiously follow and do what they keep on promising the Filipinos, the international community, and, for that matter, the Bangsamoro People, the three years of their interim governance will just be like ARMM that benefits only but a few.
