Mama-o: Lanao del Sur is the key to peace and order in the entire ARMM

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur: A Maranao member of President Duterte's cabinet believes the key to the peace and order condition in the entire Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) is the province of Lanao del Sur.

Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony of the rehabilitation of the Most Affected Area (MAA) or Ground Zero on November 1, 2018 held at the Rizal Park here, Atty. Abdullah D. Mama-o, presidential assistant on OFWs and Muslim Concerns, said that he is "a native Marawian and if there is a law, a human law, that will allow me to be born again, I would prefer to be born again in the City of Marawi because this is my city."

Mama-o added that if only "we in Lanao del Sur are united to make our province peaceful, the key to peace and order in the entire Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao is the province of Lanao del Sur."

He stressed: “If Lanao del Sur will become peaceful, Maguindanao will become peaceful, TawiTawi, Basilan and Sulu will become peaceful."

“In other words, if we have a peaceful Lanao, it will be the most peaceful area in the whole country and Mindanao will become peaceful, all over the country will become peaceful. Lanao del sur is the key to the peace and order situation in the whole island of Mindanao,” he said.

Mama-o said Maranaos should not fear for the development of Lanao del Sur, saying it is the richest province in the whole country.

“We have the Lake Lanao, we have the Agus River Complex, giving billions of income to this government, and in the future if we will have a federal system of government, we will be the richest federal state… and that is to me because we have the beautiful Lake Lanao that is giving us everything,” he said.

He said without Lake Lanao there will be no Augus River, without Agus River there will be no Maria Cristina Falls, without Maria Cristina Falls, there will be no electricity in the whole of Mindanao.

Mama-o said Lanao del Sur is even richer and bigger than Singapore. And that is the hope of Lanao del Sur and the City of Marawi.
