Three Killed in Iligan Attack

Three persons were killed by an unidentified assailant who barged into a private house in Tambacan, here, about 11::00 o’clock in the evening of Thursday, August 10.

Police Sr. Inspector Oswaldo Reotita Tongson, Jr. in his report identified the fatalities as Aladin Piti-ilan y Mancao, 40 years old, married, Businessman and a resident of Purok 4, of the said barangay; Alnor Samporna, 17 years old, single; and Salem Samporna, 47 years old, Carpenter and residents of Bubong, Lanao del Sur.

Piti-ilan reportedly had a gunshot wound in his head, Samporna, the younger sustained a gunshot wound at the left side of his head while the elder Samporna had a wound at the left backside of his head.

Piti-ilan died on the spot while the Sampornas were declared clinically dead a few minutes later at Mercy Community Hospital.

A fourth victim identified as Kikid Piti-ilan, 17 years old and a resident of Tipanoy, Iligan City also sustained a gunshot wound and was still undergoing treatment at Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital according to the report.

Initial investigation revealed that the victims were inside the house of Aladin in Purok 4, of the said barangay when four unidentified men wearing masks/bonnets barged in and ordered Aladin to lie on his belly and the three men to kneel down.

The report said that one of the masked men then shot the victims at close range.

According to the report the SOCO Team recovered at the scene of the crime five fired Cal .45 cartridges and a deformed Cal .45 bullet.

At press time the police is still investigating to identify the assailant and his companions and the motive of the murders. (TNRS)
