ILIGAN CITY, June 25 -- Muslims here including tens of thousand evacuees from war-torn Marawi City will centralize their Salat Eid'l Fitr in the Amphitheater in the city hall compound this morning after Darul Ifta of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has announced last night the sighting of the new moon which means the month of Ramadan has ended and the first day of the month of Shawal.

Muslim young leader Elian Macala said the city government of Iligan under the stewardship of Mayor Celso Regencia has offered the Amphitheater to Muslims as a sincere gesture of the city administration and the majority Christian Iliganons for solidarity with their Muslim brothers especially at this time when Maranaos have been displaced due to the Marawi crisis.

Macala invited all Muslims in Iligan to come and join the rest in performing the Eid which is one of the two important festivals in the Islamic world. (Mas Yahya/TNRS)
