Marawi City North District holds 8th Joint BSP Jamboree, GSP Encampment

The Northeast District I of the Marawi City Schools Division of the DepEd ARMM conducted its 8th Joint BSP Jamboree and GSP Encampment 2015 with the theme: GSP –“Girls First: Imagine, Commit, Serve.” BSP – “Peace and Development through Scouting.”
The 3-day Joint BSP Jamboree and GSP Encampment activity was held from October 26 to 28, 2015 at the Mamintal Disomangcop Central Elementary School (MDCES) with Assistant Superintendent Pharida L. Sansarona as the guest speaker.
MDCES Principal Dayansamo Macaraya Camid and OIC Assistant District Supervisor Hadja Leonor Macaraya Macabinta told the New Ranao Star that the 8th Joint BSP Jamboree and GSP Encampment features various activities such as songs, yells and fancy drill, egg relay, paper dance, eating banana, bottle filling, poster making, slogan, sack race, message relay, going to market, tomato dance, knot tying, international friendship, declamation, music-literary contest, cultural dance, Nasiat/Casida/Bang, egg frying, and boiling water, among others.
School Principal Camid said that MDCES has an enrollment of 543 pupils/students.
The opening program included an invocation by Mr. Fahad M. Mahmod; rededication to the BSP and GS Promise and Law by MDCES and BES pupils; reflection by Dr. Tarhata D. Tarosan, BES School Principal; welcome/opening remarks by Hja. Leonor M. Macabinta, OIC Assistant District Supervisor; presentation of campers by Zoraidah L. Ampaso, District MAPEH coordinator; acknowledgement and declaration of the Encampment and Jamboree by H. Omairah H.I. Daluma, asst. treasurer, Lanao del Sur – Marawi City Council and concurrent division coordinator and Zenaida A. Sarip, BSP Division coordinator.
The Guest Speaker, introduced by Johairah A. Ditucalanl, was by ASDS Pharida L. Sansarona, President, GSP Lanao del Sur-Marawi City Council, who gave a heart-warming and inspirational speech.
This was followed by another inspirational message by District Supervisor Dr. Sadrodin M. Diron; Words of Wisdom by Ana Zenaida U. Alonto, Vice President, Lanao del Sur–Marawi City Council and assistant schools division superintendent (elementary); and the singing of the community song, “The More We Get Together.”
Mrs. Shaima Abdullah, MDCES Grade 6 Adviser, ably served as lady of ceremony of the program.
