Sarimanok Press Club gives summer writing contest

Some thirty youth will test their prowess and try their luck during the 2015 Summer Essay Writing Competition Monday morning at the Conference Room of the Provincial New Capitol Complex of Lanao del Sur here.

The competition is sponsored by the Sarimanok Press Club (SPC).

Prof. Masiding Noor Yahya, SPC president and chief editor of The New Ranao Star, said the competition aims to keep the youth do what they usually do not do during school days. 

He said at stake are prizes that include plaques, medals and cash as well as technical and vocational scholarships.

Contestants will also have the opportunity avail of a five-day stay-in training on campus journalism for free to be conducted by the Club, he added.

SPC is a group of local mainstream media practitioners from the radio and television stations and the print.
