Sansarona: “I am just following orders”

MARAWI CITY, June 2  - Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Pharida L. Sansarona today disclosed that she is “just following orders” from higher authorities in the region, referring to her designation as OIC Schools Division Superintendent of Marawi City Division by virtue of Regional Order No. 79, series of 2014 and released on May 27, 2014.

Sansarona made this statement before school officials and employees of the Marawi City Division during  the General Teacher’s Meeting of the City Division, which coincided with the thanksgiving or kandori in her honor for her designation as OIC SDS  of Marawi City Division held today at the quadrangle of the Amai PakPak Elementary School, here.

Regional Order No. 79, series of 2014 and released on May 27, 2014, regarding the remerging of Lanao del Sur 1A and !B covered by Executive Order No. 19, dated June 14, 2012, designated her as the OIC SDS of the Division of Marawi.  The designation reads: “Pharida  Sansarona  as permanent Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS) shall return to the Division of Marawi City; and is now designated as the OIC SDS of the Division of Marawi City, in view of the mandatory retirement from government service of the SDS of the Division of Marawi, and she (Sansarona) shall act and perform the duties inherent to the position.”

Sansarona was earlier designated as OIC SDS  of Lanao del Sur !B, which was remerged with Lanao del Sur !A, to become Lanao del Sur 1, and abolished Lanao del Sur !B by virtue of EO 19.

Regional Order No. 79 also designated Zenaida Alonto and Abidin Salamat as OIC ASDS of the Division of Marawi City and “shall assist OIC SDS Sansarona in the supervision of schools within the Division of Marawi City; accordingly, elementary schools shall be under the supervision of OIC ASDS Alonto, while secondary schools shall be under the supervision of ASDS Salamat.”

Likewise, Soraida Noor was also designated as OIC ASDS of the Division of Lanao del Sur I, and “shall supervise the operation of Secondary Schools, while ASDS Sumagayan shall supervise the operations of elementary schools.”

Sahanee M. Sumagayan is the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of Division of Lanao del Sur I.

Regional Order No. 79 was issued by DepEd –ARMM Regional Secretary Jamar M. Kulayan by authority of Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman; and noted by Atty. Laisa Masuhud Alamia, executive secretary.

In an interview with media, OIC SDS Sansarona said that she is clothed with authority.  She also said that she is not apprehensive and is ready to face anyone because she is in the right track. She said she received the order on May 28, 2014 and took her oath of office as OIC SDS of the Marawi City Division before a government prosecutor on May 29, 2014.  She said her designation is not of her own making but the orders of higher regional authorities.

In the same general  teachers’ meeting, Dr. John A. Magno, assistant regional secretary, confirmed through cellphone, the designation of Sansarona as OIC SDS of Marawi City Division and encouraged the teachers, supervisors, principals and other school officials to extend their full support to OIC SDS Sansarona as the newly designated OIC SDS of the Marawi City Division.

Sansarona said that she, together with the others who were given designations, are required to submit a report of compliance to the regional secretary within five (5) days from implementation thereof.
