Ranao Star opens bureau office in Iligan City
The New Ranao Star will formally activate its bureau office in Iligan City on Tuesday, June 17 to serve the need of the reading public of the city and the province of Lanao del Norte.
Located at the third floor of AGR Pharmacy building along Mercado Street off Aguinaldo Avenue, the bureau will be manned by veteran journalist Frank E. Dosdos Jr. in addition to his position as editor of the weekly paper.
Dosdos will be assisted by staff to cover the city and the province.
Press releases or statements, ads placements, media invitations and other matters for publication from the city and Lanao del Norte or nearby towns may be submitted to the New Ranao Star’s bureau office or emailed to ranaostar@gmail.com.
The New Ranao Star is founded by Prof. Masiding Noor Yahya, its publisher and editor-in-chief.
A veteran Maranao journalist and academician, Yahya was former secretary general of the Protem Committee of World Federation of Muslim Journalists based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He was also former provincial coordinator of the Bureau of Public Information-ARMM for Lanao del Sur; contributor to Brunei Darussalam’s leading morning daily, The Brunei Times; and wrote in many regional papers in the country.
He had been former college dean of arts, sciences and technology of Jamiatu Marawi Al-Islamia Foundation, Marawi City; director for student affairs of Al-Mustapha International College, Makati, and school administrator of some colleges, among others.
Yahya is also doing at present advisory or consultancy on Information and community relations assistance to some government and non-government organizations.
