Samer Salic |
Marawi City
The Office of the Market superintendent is all ready for this coming fasting month of Ramadhan even as it warned that “no vendor is allowed to display along Perez Street in the market area.”
Samer M. U. Salic, market superintendent of the Islamic City, said he ordered all his assistants and staff to strictly enforce cleanliness in every part of the market site and to see to it that price control is implemented.
Every month of Ramadhan is a gold mine among vendors.
Even in Iligan City, a non-Muslim locality, such shopping malls as Gaisano’s and others are making great sales than in other months of the year except December.
The month of Ramadhan is the ninth month of the Muslim Hijrah Calendar.
Fasting from Dusk to dawn during this month is obligatory among Muslims.
Fasting in Ramadhan means abstaining from food and drink intake, sexual intercourse, intentional doing bad habits, uttering bad words, etc.
Since his assumption as market superintendent, Samers has been admired for what he has introduced in terms of cleanliness, price control, confiscating defective scales (kilograms), and arresting snatchers and thieves victimizing consumers visiting the market as well as stall owners and vendors.
