Two-Day Workshop on Basic Journalism
After its two successful workshops on basic journalism among campus papers’ advisers and English advisers of DepEd, The New Ranao Star, the most popular and leading newspaper in the locality, will hold another two-day WORKSHOP ON BASIC JOURNALISM for school publication advisers, campus journalists, aspiring writers, and other interested persons, to be held on May 9-10, 2014 at a designated function hall in the city.
Resource speakers and trainers are recognized competent media practitioners in the region.
LEARNING OUTPUT.
At the end of the workshop, a participant is expected to learn how to gather and organize data necessary for good writing, how to write news and feature articles, as well as editorial and opinion writing, how to choose angles for photo and write photo caption, and to learn media production such as basic layout in order to produce newspaper print out (hard) copy.
REGISTRATION FEE.
A corresponding fee of P1,500.00 shall be collected from each participant. This will cover 2 LUNCH MEALS, 4 SNACKS, Workshop Kits like handouts and DVD copies of lectures, Venue Rental, Trainors’ Honoraria, and other incidental expenses.
POST WORKSHOP.
After the workshop, the Editorial Staff of The New Ranao Star will also assist a participant in coming out with a regular newspaper or other publications of his school or office.
