Marawi to host ARMM sports meet

The Islamic City of Marawi will be the venue of this year’s sports fest of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Athletic Association (ARMMAA) to be held on February 10-15.
In an interview with the New Ranao Star, Atty. Jamar Kulayan, secretary of the Department of Education-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DepEd-ARMM), said that the ARMMAA will be held from February 10-15 at the Mindanao State University main campus in Marawi City.
Mrs. Mona A. Macatanong al hadja, schools division superintendent of Marawi City schools division, said the city government under the leadership Sultan Fahad “Pre” Salic had accepted the holding of the yearly regional meet in the city.
In fact, she said, it was the Islamic city that earlier showed its desire to host the sports fest when "we sent our bid to host said event."
She added that the mayor had expressed his full support and of the city government's.
Macatanong also said that the city schools division under her leadership is ready with full support for the activity.
She said holding the Meet in Marawi is appropriate since the MSU main campus, the particular activity venue, is the largest state university in the ARMM with all the facilities needed for such a big event.
