COTABATO TOWN COPS HUNT DOWN GUNMEN IN MURDER OF EX-DETAINEE

COTABATO CITY, April 8 (PNA) -- A former prisoner who was just freed for few days from the city jail of Tacurong City was shot dead by still unidentified gunman, police said.

Police backed by the Army's Task Force Talakudong (Tacurong) immediately launched manhunt.

The Tacurong City police office, in a police report, identified the slain former detainee as 29-year-old Alfred Fabro who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the head and body.

He died instantly after an unidentified man opened fire on him as he was walking home in Purok Sampaguita in the village of New Isabela, Tacurong City, police said.

Responding policemen recovered empty shells for cal. 45 pistol the gunman used against Fabro.

The motive of the killing remained unknown but the Tacurong City PNP has launched a massive manhunt against the two suspects who fled riding tandem on a motorbike

Fabro, a convicted robber, was released from jail after serving his term for more than six years.
