Davao chamber to launch 'Bankerohan on Wheels'

In its effort to assist in sustaining the food supply in Davao City, the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. is set to launch "Bankerohan on Wheels: DCCCII Tulong-Bayan Program" that will be made available to different locations or barangays in Davao City.

The "Bankerohan on Wheels: DCCCII Tulong-Bayan Program" is a mobile market that delivers fresh and affordable fish, fruits, vegetables, and other basic food supplies to people. It is initiated primarily for public convenience as well as for observing social distancing as the Enhanced Community Quarantine is still not lifted.

Through this project, both vendors and the residents of Davao City will be benefited given that the vendors can still sell their locally grown produce and that purchasing makes it easier for the public to do.

"Through this project, consumers can buy their groceries, vegetables, fish, and meat items within their barangays without going to public and supermarkets to lessen their risks of infection from the COVID-19 coronavirus. In this way, we can enhance the effectiveness of the ECQ. This project is in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) particularly the City Agriculture Office and Association of Barangay Council, to address the issues of social distancing, encouraging to stay home indoors and assisting certain sectors to mitigate the big impact of the ECQ in Davao City," Vice President for Industry Cherrylin Casuga said.

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. is constantly coordinating with different institutions and organizations to set plans and programs that are helpful to the business community.

With that, watch out for the following schedule and location that will be posted weekly on Davao City Chamber's official Facebook page as the "Bankerohan on Wheels: DCCCII Tulong-Bayan Program" will start anytime soon.
