Iligan City postpones flag raising, lowering ceremonies

The City government of Iligan has postponed its flag raising and lowering programs effective immediately as an effort to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19).
In his Executive Order No. 28, Series of 2020, issued on March 13, 2020, Mayor Celso G. Regencia said the postponement of Flag Raising/Lowering Programs is in compliance with the Call of the Department of Health (DOH) for "Social Distancing" to prevent COVID-19 spread and threat.
On Thursday, Regencia suspends school classes in Iligan City of all levels and postponed all public activities and gatherings effective March 13, 2020, until further notice.
In a memorandum dated March 12, 2020, Regencia also postponed indefinitely all public activities and gatherings such as commencement exercises, barangay assemblies, sports events and the like.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Covic-19 as pandemic and President Rodrigo Duterte placed the entire country under a State of Health Emergency on Wednesday. (RSP)
