Youth in Maguing, Lanao Sur unite vs drugs, terrorism

ILIGAN CITY: Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO) has facilitated on Wednesday the first municipal launching of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) Advocacy Program held at the municipal gymnasium of Maguing, Lanao del Sur.

On February 19, 2020, Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office facilitated its 1st Municipal Launching of (Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) Advocacy Program held at the Municipal Gymnasium of Maguing Municipality, Lanao del Sur province 

In a statement, P/Maj. Achmad A. Alibonga, chief of Provincial Community Affairs and Development (PCAD) Branch/PIO, said the launching created the KKDAT Municipal Chapter that aims to educate the youth against the ill effects of illegal drugs and prevent them from joining any terrorist organizations. 

"Said program is envisioned to inflate the SPIRIT of VOLUNTERISM among the youth and student sectors to empower them to become proactive partners of the government in the campaign against terrorism and illegal drugs," Alibonga said. 

An estimated number of 150 persons coming from the senior high school students of different schools, out-of-school youth and SK members attended the activity.

Alibonga spearheaded the activity and was assisted by Police Staff Sergeant Alberto D Gapoy, Chief Clerk, PCADB and Ms. Nor-Ain A. Mohammad, the representative of Lanao del Sur PPO to the 1st KKDAT National Summit scheduled on March 6, 2020 at New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac. 

The Maguing activity was under the stewardship of Lieutenant Colonel EDGAR V BATOON, LDSPPO deputy provincial director for operation and at the same time the LDSPPO Officer-In-Charge under the direct supervision of Police Brigadier General MARNI C MARCOS, JR., Regional Director of Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR).

Alibonga said the activity was supported by Honorable FAHAD D. MOLOK, Municipal Mayor of Maguing. (RSP)
