MARAWI CITY: Two local terrorists affiliated to Dawlah Islamiyah and two supporters voluntarily surrendered on Monday to Army’s 49th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Cormatan, Masiu, Lanao del Sur, the military said.
Lt. Col. Edgar Allan Villanueva, 49th Infantry Battalion commander, identified the terrorists as Camar Gampong Musa and Nasroding Comayog Patilan and the supporters were Badroding Gampong Patilan and Pacalinog Patila.
The four also yielded one M16A1 rifle, one caliber 45 pistol, magazines and ammunition, said Villanueva.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Bagnus Gaerlan Jr., Acting Commander of the 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces), commended the efforts of the troops for the successful surrender of local terrorist members and their supporters.
“Your 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division remains steadfast in its commitment to attain just and lasting peace in our area of operation through our campaign against local terrorist groups, lawless armed groups and loose firearms,” said Gaerlan.
“Likewise, we thank the local government and other stakeholders for their continued trust and support to our troops in contributing peace and development in the whole province of Lanao del Sur,” Gaerlan added. (PIO-Wesmincom)
