Bomb explosion kills 1, hurt 2 in Pikit, Cotabato

One died and two were injured after a bomb that fell on the victims’ house exploded on Wednesday at 3:30 AM in Pikit, North Cotabato, police said. 

Killed was Misba Masla while the wounded were Ali Masla and their son Edwin Masla, all residents of Sitio Butilin, Barangay (Village) Kabasalan in Pikit, North Cotabato, according to Bombo Radio reporter Garry Fuerzas quoting police report. 

The still unidentified bomb fell on the house of the victims and blasted which killed Misba on the spot and the two injured were immediately brought to a hospital for rexuperation, the report added. 

Before the explosion, some civilians said they heard gunfire and mortar shelling followed by Chopper areal strikes in the boundary between Pikit and Datu Piang municipality in Maguindanao province. 

The military allegedly conducted surgical strikes against the group of Sheik Esmail Abdulmalik aka Kumandar Abu Toraife of the ISIS-inspired Bangsamoro Isamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) group. MASIDING NOOR YAHYA
