Ang Batang "Taga Inged" Now a GMA Reporter

"Ang batang 'Taga Inged' Now a GMA Reporter" is how he rephrased his achievement as a national reporter of the giant network, the GMA.“

But Asmarie Macadato Labao, the popular Igagadong sa Ranaw (Treasure of Ranaw) in Facebook, said this is a stroke of fate coupled with hardwork and determination.

He was all thank to Allah as the first Meranaw reporter in a reputable and trusted in the media industry in the country. “It seems it’s just a dream that someone who is from the province became the first Meranaw reporter in GMA News and public Affairs,” he said.

Here is his story:

I am not saying goodbye Marawi, goodbye Bangsamoro… I am saying hello to a whole new world of expanded capacities and commitment to serve our communities and our country. Serbisyong totoo.

DON’T LOSE HOPE. “Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be part of GMA News and Public Affairs. Bagamat, pangarap ko noon na maging reporter, napakalayo ito, dahil ang alam ko, isa lamang itong pangarap na pinapangarap lamang, wala ng iba. Ito na siguro ang tinatawag na qadar or destiny. Isang patunay ni Allah (SWT) na siya lamang ang tanging may alam at may plano sa lahat,” he added.

PROUDLY BATANG TAGA INGED. I grew up in one of the most isolated Brgy. In Lanao del Sur, isang liblib na lugar ngunit katangi tangi ang likas na yaman, ito ay ang Dapao sa bayan ng Pualas, Lanao del Sur. Then later, migrated to one of the diversified town in Malabang where in I finished my secondary education and finally, I was professionally exposed and molded in the City of Marawi.

KAPIT LANG MGA KAPUSO. Si Allah ang tanging nakakaalam ng ating kapalaran. Napakalayo ito sa aking tinapos, I am a graduate of BS Forestry, with a master’s degree in Public Administration in Mindanao State University-Marawi , at nagtapos din ng short course in Public Policy Development and Advocacy in NCPAG, UP-Diliman, Quezon City.

UPON GRADUATION, I was immersed in community volunteering and development works where I mingled genuine humanitarian workers and young leaders. Later, I was hired in ARMM as a professional Forester for almost 10 years, and I became a diligent forestry supervisor and advocate for Ranaw (Lake Lanao) protection and conservation.

KASABAY NG TRABAHO ay ang masasayang paglalakbay ng tropang ONEPedicabTeam. Our team is avid and passionate in hosting, producing films and extreme exposures. We made a various local film documentaries, hosting local TV programs such as Youth N Focus (MIT Tv8), Ranaw Spotlight in RanawTv13 and a guest anchor in local radio stations.
