MARAWI CITY: The Ministry of Local Government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MLG-BARMM)) conducted here on Saturday and Sunday a two-day training cum orientation for local chief executives (LCEs) in the new Bangsamoro region.
With a theme, “Creating Synergy in the Region towards Moral Governance,” the activity was attended by newly elected governors and mayors within the newly created Bangsamoro autonomous region.
Local government minister Naguib Sinarimbo who opened the program on Saturday said the training will walk the LCEs through the basics of running bureaucracy.
"The purpose of this training is to orient the newly elected local chief executives of the basics of governance, what laws or ordinances they need to act, special bodies to organize, and what steps to take before actually assuming the post on June 30, 2019", said Sinarimbo.
BARMM Interim Chief Minister Ahod Alhaj Murad Ebrahim emphasized that the local government officials are the most important partners of the BARMM in achieving the aspirations of the Bangsamoro.
"It is very important that we have a talk like this, in order to understand everybody and in order to have one common line. This is only the first time but rest assured that we will be talking more in order to work out a very strong cooperation and partnership with the LGUs," said Ebrahim. (ATM/RSP)
