DFA to issue Hajj passports in Marawi to residents joining 2019 Hajj
MARAWI CITY: Intending pilgrims from the province of Lanao del Sur will no longer have to go to the regional offices of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Cotabato or in Cagayan de Oro to secure Hajj passports to go for a pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They can now apply for the needed passports right here in the Islamic city of Marawi.
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) through its Bureau of External Relations announced that the DFA will conduct on March 13-15, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium here a mobile issuance of Hajj passports to Lanao residents who will join the 2019 Hajj (pilgrimage).
NCMF advised that in addition to the usual passport requirements, the intending pilgrims should secure a Certificate of Tribal Membership (CTM) and an endorsement from the NCMF-Region 12B Marawi Main Office only, adding that only those endorsed by NCMF Marawi will be accommodated for the mobile passport application.
Documentary requirements for CTM and endorsement are:
1. Original copy with photocopy of PSA SECPA birth certificate;
2. Original copy with photocopy of PSA SECPA marriage certificate for married women using their spouse's name; and
3. Two (2) pcs passport size photo taken within the last 6 months.
NCMF said the three-day DFA mobile passport processing was an initiative of its Secretary Saidamen Pangarungan and Lanao del Sur Vice Governor Mamintal Adiong Jr.
