COTABATO CITY, Philippines: The regional secretary of the Department of Education of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DepEd-ARMM) formally opened the 2018 Search for Outstanding Bangsamoro Teachers last Monday, November 19, 2018.
The event was among the important highlights of the 29th anniversary celebrations of the founding day of the autonomous region which was tagged as "2018 Pakarajaan sa ARMM."
Atty. Rasol Y. Mitmug, Jr., DepEd-ARMM secretary, in his message, said the recognition of Bangsamoro teachers in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) under the leadership of Governor Mujiv Hataman was started by then Secretary Jamar Kulayan and continued by then Secretary John Magno who succeeded the former as DepEd-ARMM secretary.
"Since this is one of the important events we see in which we encourage and recognize our teachers, we continue it in our time," he said.
"Since this is one of the important events we see in which we encourage and recognize our teachers, we continue it in our time," he said.
Atty. Mimug said that although the Pakaradjaan 2018 will be potentially the last Pakarajaan of the ARMM, it did not mean that there will be no outstanding teachers to be nominated and honored in the future.
"In fact, what we want to happen is to continue a noble tradition in recognizing our teachers in the ARMM," Mitmug emphasized. He is optimistic that this will be continued as all good things will be continued. "In fact in this situation, we will see the continuity of the different administrations... this is what we expect."
"We know that our teachers will be our connection in the future as they are moulding our children and because of this, today is meaningful for them, and that this day is for them," Mitmug said. - RSP
