PAMANA distributes BPAT toolkits, livelihood assistance in Buadiposo-Buntong, LDS

BUADIPOSO-BUNTONG, Lanao del Sur: The Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan or PAMANA under the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) handed over toolkit for Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), and distributed community livelihood assistance and livelihood assistance for cooperatives to different barangays in this municipality.

Municipal mayor Noron G. Dadayan led the handover and distribution ceremony held at the municipal hall Wednesday, September 27.

According to the program briefer, the PAMANA ARMM 2017 project is an undertaking of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with the government of the Philippines through the Office of the Presidential Adviser for the Peace Process (OPAPP) as implementing partner.

This project covers the five provinces in the ARMM and focuses on reducing vulnerabilities as well as increasing community resilience, in fragile communities.


Under the PAMANA-ARMM 2017 for fragile communities component is the provision of livelihood assistance covering 14 municipalities of Maguindanao province with 58 fragile communities and 6 municipalities in Lanao del Sur with 68 fragile communities including 28 Barangays in the Municipality of Buadiposo Buntong, Lanao del Sur.

As the nearest town in Marawi City from the east, Buadiposo Buntong is now hosting good number of IDPs from the Marawi siege. 

The town is largely farming and fishing. It covers a wide area of Lanao lake and most part of it is low-laying areas suitable for rice farming. But the area, said the briefer, has been neglected with irrigation so that during the community assessment and profiling and prioritization of needs conducted by the project implementer, 20 communities requested for agri–related project including water pump (Irrigation) for 7 communities and other farm machinery and inputs, fishing equipment for 5 Barangays, grocery package for 2 communities and bakery materials for 1 community.


The briefer revealed that items to be distributed were: Grocery Package for Sapot and Manacab Poblacion; Bakery Materials for Buntong Proper; Water Pump for Irrigation for Buadiposo Lilod - 4 units, Ragondingan Proper - 4 units, Tuka - 4 units, and Boto Ragondingan - 4 units; Water Pump with Farm Machinery for Bubong, Lunduban and Dansalan; Farm Machinery with various components for Dirisan, Katogonan, Lumbatan Pataingud, Lumbac, Minanga, Tarik, Lumbatan Manacab, Ragondingan West, Bangon Proper, and Bangon 1; Farm Machinery and Dressmaking Equipment for Buadiposo Raya; Farm Inputs for Raya Buntong, Ragondingan East, and Datu Tumbara; Fishing Boats for Pindolonan, Bacolod, Gata, and Buadiposo Proper; Sari-Sari Store Package for Rasa Livelihood Producer Cooperative, Lunduban Farmers Producer Cooperative, Manakab Poblacion Livelihood Cooperative, Tuka Kaisaisa Livelihood Producer Cooperative, Ragondingan Proper Producer Cooperative, and Minanga Kapamagogopa Producer Cooperative; Hollow Block Making Package for Bubong Livelihood Marketing Cooperative, Buntong Proper Agri-Farm Livelihood Marketing Cooperative; and Installation of complete set of water pump for Bangon Proper Ogop Ko Kapagingud Producer Cooperative, Pataingud Farmers Producer Cooperative, Lumbac and Somandang Farmer Cooperative.

Meanwhile, each of the 28 barangays of Buadiposo-Buntong received a BPAT Toolkit with the following contents/items: Raincoat (10 pcs.), Pair of Boots (10 pairs), Rechargeable Flashlights (10 units), Sling bag (10 pcs), Vest with reflector (10 Pcs), Ballpen (10 boxes), Calculator (10 units), Record book (2 pcs), Bond paper (6 rms), Voice recorder ( 1 unit), Digital camera (1 unit), Siren (1 unit), Megaphone (3 units), Handheld radio (10 units), Battery (3 units), Power inveter (3 units), First aid kit-Sureaid (10 bags), and BPAT Toolkit box (2 boxes).

The ceremony was attended by community leaders, BPATs, BLGUs, municipal employees, municipal councilors, municipal heads of department, PNP, line of agencies and stake-holders..- RSP
