Brgy Marawi Poblacion resumes normal life

ILIGAN CITY, Philippines (November 6, 2017) -- Residents of Barangay Marawi Poblacion here have resumed living a normal life since they have started returning to the barangay days ago.

Tomaga R. Abdo, from the provincial office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), said in an online post that they are now enjoing peace of mind. 

"Yesterday (Monday)," Abdo said, "our DAR-Lanao del Sur office held flag ceremony and we started performing our functions as DAR workers."

He said classes have also begun at the main campus of the University Training Center of Mindanao State University (UTC-MSU) also situated in the barangay.

Many stores are opened and fish and other foodstuffs are being vended daily, Abdo added.

"There is electricy, pedicabs are servicing passengers, and we are able to perform congregation in our mosque," he said.


He said BPATs are patrolling everyday to secure peace and order in the barangay and the security of its residents.

Many are returning now to the barangay everyday, he added.

Abdo has asked his co-barangay residents to go home now because it is alredy peaceful. (MNY/RSP/TRA)
